There have been several award-winning cars from Acura over the years, including the Acura RSX of 2003. There are three trim levels to the RSX, including Base, L, and Type-S. The Type-S version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 2002 the popular 2.0 liter VTEC has made this a popular choice for coupe buyers nationwide.

Standard equipment in the RSX for 2002 and 2003 includes the 2.0 liter engine by Honda, weighing in at 4 cylinders and sixteen valves. A 6-speed Standard Transaxle puts the power of the VTEC engine to the pavement. The has proven to be a popular configuration for the RSX.

The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The RSX uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by coil front springs and coil in the rear.
