Acura RSX

A high point in the coupe market is the Acura RSX. In 2006 Acura rolled out an upgraded version of the RSX with two versions: Base and Type-S. Sales for the RSX, especially the RSX Type-S, were brisk during 2006 and 2007. The improved reliability and the updated styling were responsible for the increased interest.

2006 Acura RSX Type-S Specs

Standard equipment in the RSX for 2005 and 2006 includes the 2.0 liter engine by Honda, weighing in at 4 cylinders and sixteen valves. A 6-speed Standard Transaxle puts the power of the VTEC engine to the pavement. The has proven to be a popular configuration for the RSX.

The RSX uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The fuel system for the 2006 RSX is a PGM-FI design, using gasoline fuel. The fuel flow is controlled by a electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The fuel capacity of the fuel tank is 13.20 gallons.

    I’m liking Hyundai over Acura. It think it’s the difference in reliability. My first RSX worked quite well, but the second one (a Type-S BTW) didn’t fare so well…
