A high point in the sedan market is the Acura RL. In 1996 Acura released an upgraded version of the RL with two versions: Base and Premium. Sales for the RL, especially the RL Premium, were brisk during 1996 and 1997. The improved reliability and the sporty styling were responsible for the sales boost.
