The Type-S version is one of the more popular options, outselling other configurations. Like in 2002 the popular 2.0 liter VTEC has made this a popular choice for coupe buyers nationwide.

In 2004 Acura released the RSX Type-S to the car-buying market. The RSX came in two configurations: Type-S and Base. The Type-S configuration is powered by the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which makes 33 highway miles and 27 city. The RSX competes in the Coupe market segment, in direct competition with Lexus.
